DIRECTIONS (AND NOTES)
The Rockbridge Rapids play at Cap'n Dick Smith Field at Washington and Lee University in the nice little city of Lexington, Virginia.
Lexington isn't technically in the Shennandoah Valley, but it's close enough to qualify for the Valley Baseball League.
The actual LOCATION of Smith Field is 400 yards East of US Rt. 60 on W. Denny Circle, Lexington, VA. (GOOGLE and Mapquest DO NOT recognize this address, and DO NOT try W&L as an address, because that will direct you to the main campus. Therefore... (until Smith Field gets a recognizable address) follow these directions:
COMING FROM THE NORTH OR EAST -- (almost everybody)
Take I-81 to Exit 191 (I-64 West); take first exit (Rt. 11/ Va. 39). Take US Rt. 11 South through 3 traffic lights and bear right into City of Lexington, past VMI and W&L's campuses. At 2nd traffic light in the city, turn right on Nelson St. (US Rt. 60). Proceed 1/2 mile and turn right onto West Denny Circle (sign there also for W&L's athletic fields). Straight ahead 400 yards to field.
COMING FROM THE WEST -- (That's you, Covington!)
Take I-64 to Exit 50 (Lexington, Kerr's Creek). Right at exit for 1/2 mile; left onto US Rt. 60 heading East to Lexington. Proceed 5 miles and turn left onto West Denny Circle (sign there also for W&L's athletic fields). Straight ahead 400 yards to field.
